To plan and visit towns of general interest that are situated outside the M25.
Examples are Windsor, St Albans, Colchester, Southend, Rochester, Rye, Royal Tunbridge Wells and Guildford to name but a few. A day visit is normal.
We meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month except December, January and February.
Open to Car drivers. Members could organise themselves into groups of 2, 3, or 4 and then car share meaning that one drives once every 2, 3, or 4 trips. Only persons who are prepared to organise an outing, as one of a pair, should apply.

Towns Around group visited Chatham Royal Dockyard in April 2018). Although overcast our Group enjoyed a wonderful day. We witnessed a demonstration on rope making, even if it was only a quarter mile long!
Inside a former spy submarine we had some fun getting around - ok for the nimble.
There were far too many things to see so we have all agreed to go back again. (Free entry with Art Fund)
