CLIMATE EMERGENCY AWARENESS GROUP
UPDATED 4/3//24
The group was formed in 2019 to discuss climate change and the approaching climate emergency. We meet on the second Wednesday of every month at 2pm and the meeting lasts for approximately two hours. We take it in turns to research and give a talk or presentation about a topic.
We have discussed a huge range of topics concerning the causes and effects of climate change, for example deforestation and loss of forest habitats, changes in ocean currents, bird and animal migrations. We also visited the Beddington Incinerator, which was most interesting and showed how our excess plastic is disposed of.
This year we plan to cover some interesting topics: for example Chinese green energy developments, modern versus traditional farming techniques, and lifestyle changes in the UK over the last fifty years.
If you are interested in joining the group please contact
