We meet at the Civic Centre, usually on the second Friday
in each month, from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Unlike a book group we do not all read the same book, someone will give a talk
on a famous person or sometimes not so famous, based on a book they have read and enjoyed.
After a cup of tea and a
biscuit, we discuss what we have read. The subject of the talk may be
living
or deceased and we have enjoyed a great variation in the subjects.
For example:
Arthur
Conan Doyle Beethoven
Betty Boothroyd Dag Hammarskjold
Fred Astaire
Lord Longford
Marie Lloyd
At present we are full, but we are opening
a waiting list. Please contact Pat Moody with any enquiries.
